Abstract:

This paper describes the Pyrites Hydroelectric Project in Canton, New York, an 8-MW project completed in December 1985. The key to its successful development was a team approach that included the owner, the contractor, and the engineer, and that allowed value engineering concepts to be applied, resulting in significant cost savings.
