Abstract:

The Ok Menga project, currently under construction, consists of a run-of-river intake underground concrete and steel lined power conduit surface powerhouse with two 25 MW units and a 132 kV transmission line. The project site is within tropical rainforest, characterized by young geology and high rainfall, producing very difficult terrain. The paper concentrates on the design aspects which required special attention.
