Abstract:

The Salt Caves Hydroelectric Project, as proposed by the City of Klamath Falls, Oregon, is a prime example of a project where the design has been based on elimination and minimization of environmental impacts and incorporation of significant mitigation measures to offset any potential impacts and enhance the resources of the area. This paper describe the major changes made in the project design to minimize environmental impact, and describes the project as it is presently conceived with specific considerations to environmental constraints. This paper also provides an update on the licensing and permitting process.
