Abstract:

The intent of this paper is to outline a forecast approach developed to enable the operation of power storage projects, and to illustrate from employing the approach that overall system performance can be improved by minimizing the spill in an expected wet year and protracting the carryover storage to maximize the firm power during an expected dry cycle.
