Abstract:

Engineers are increasingly embroiled in cases where failure is defined as improper administration or management of a procedure instead of the collapse of a structure or the failure of a facility to function as designed. As managers of contracts, engineers must exert greater care during the pre-professional phase as well as all phases of a project defined in the Standard Form of Agreement: study and report, preliminary design, final design, bidding or negotiating and construction. A checklist is included.
