Abstract:

This paper explores some of the current and possible future applications of interactive graphics packages to the tasks of analyzing and planning transportation systems. The source of the ideas presented is an attempt to apply NEDS to transportation analysis, the experiences of other NEDS users, and comments and suggestions received from the user community at large. The focus is policy oriented with an emphasis on a general description of problems and potential applications rather than on specific designs and algorithms to support software development.
