Abstract:

Research shows surge flow can achieve efficient and uniform irrigation on some soils. However, most available information focuses on computerized analysis and modeling for research purposes. A simplified field method for evaluating surge flow irrigation is needed for use by irrigators not having access to computers and other sophisticated technical equipment. A procedure, worksheet and nomograph is presented that serves this simplified need.
