Abstract:

Cost-effective methods for predicting the fate of surface borne (floatable) materials and contaminants have been applied successfully within Puget Sound. Several preferred areas for the collection and retention of floatable materials were identified using these methods providing environmental planners with a clearer understanding of how to locate future disposal facilities. An overview of these methods and local circulatory features identified with their use are described.
