Part of: Coastal Zone '87

Abstract:

The effect of long-term severe erosion upon coastal property values is tested at a site along the Pacific Coast of Washington State. Statistical analysis of mean sales values suggests the erosion has had little impact on land values. This conclusion must remain tenuous because of the nature of the site. The problems and issues of studying the economic impacts of coastal erosion are presented.
