Abstract:

No 'after construction' inspection has ever been conducted in the Corps to ascertain 'if' or 'how well' we were actually able to implement our environmental commitments. There was a need to subject one of our projects to an environmental compliance inspection. This paper discusses that effort, based on a project with a checkered environmental history that had kept it in the forefront of thinking for several years. Study procedure and findings are discussed.
