Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to summarize the Myrtle Beach nourishment project as it proceeded from the geotechnical evaluation of potential borrow sands, to permitting and design, and finally to construction and project performance. The Myrtle Beach nourishment project to date has proceeded on schedule and budget despite a rather ambitious effort and some technical and logistical constraints. This case study serves to provide an overview of the project.
