Abstract:

Space in cities formed on coastal plains can be easily expanded by reclamation in Japan. Osaka Port, the waterfront of City of Osaka, has always supported the economic activities of the Osaka urban area. In the future as well, active use of Osaka Port will be essential in promoting urban development, keeping pace with changes in the needs of the times. This paper discusses development of the city and port through sea reclamation, the Technoport Osaka Project, and other aspects of the subject.
