Estuarine Rehabilitation?A Management Perspective

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Coastal Zone '87

Abstract:

This paper discusses a proposed methodology consistent with proven management techniques that is derived, in part, by a critical analysis of currently published techniques and approaches. While there is considerable competent technical and scientific review in the permitting process, decisions are often made by non-technical officials that are not always immune to political pressures, especially when the project review lacks cogency. Successful management requires continuity, consistency and currency. The authors hope to begin a dialog that will lead to better management techniques for an important and changeable resource.
