Abstract:

The earthquake of September 19th and 20th, 1985, is discussed with emphasis on general damage. The works of the Head Office of Urban Services is described in relation to emergency response. Cooperation among government agencies is described, including the works of the Department of Construction and Hydraulic Operations, works of the Department of Public Works and Housing and its Emergency Planning Commission, and the works of the Building Control Commission.
