Abstract:

The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is responsible for planning and providing water to metropolitan Boston. Recent state legislation directs that conservation, development of local sources and watershed management must be implemented before supplementary sources involving interbasin transfers can be utilized. This paper discusses the options available to MWRA and suggests the direction the Authority is heading.
