Abstract:

The papers in this book review problems and possibilities of emerging energy technology for the future. One paper discusses the world energy outlook and the political and economic barriers that affect energy development. A case study of the cost-effectiveness of a digester gas cogeneration plant is presented. The transition to alternative energy systems is discussed. Two papers present reports on hydrogen energy, including an assessment of technologies for hydrogen production from renewable resources and the application of hydrogen energy to residential and commercial uses. The technology for developing a variety of renewable and alternative energy sources is also presented.
