Abstract:

The ASCE Construction Division Committee on Inspection investigated the training of inspectors involved in the construction of Civil Engineering projects. This paper is the subcommittee's report of its findings. It covers the organizations which provide guidelines and/or training and certification by nine categories. A discussion of each category is given and the criteria used to certify various types of inspectors.
