Abstract:

The paper summarizes the results of an inquiry undertaken into Canadian Federal water policy by three persons appointed by the Canadian Federal Minister of the Environment. The investigation carried out over a period of 18 months assessed and made recommendations on emerging water issues including jurisdictional divisions of authority, the management of available water supplies both now and in the future and the need for research and the effectiveness of the federal administration of water. The paper also indicates response to the report to date.
