Abstract:

The responsibilities of the federal, state and local governments in sediment and erosion control are reviewed. The effectiveness of cost-shared and non-cost-shared technical assistance is reviewed. The role of conservation districts and recent state and federal conservation initiatives are reviewed. Suggestions for future action to improve implementation are provided.
