Abstract:

Several of the computer models used in management of the basin's reservoir system are described. Among the models discussed are the Streamflow Synthesis and Reservoir Regulation Model (SSARR), the Hydro System Seasonal Regulation Model (HYSSR), the GASPILL and FISHPASS models and various water supply forecast procedures. Emphasis is placed on the use of these models as tools in the water management decision-making process and not on the actual mechanics of the models. In addition, the performance of the SSARR model and the water supply models during a period of unseasonably warm and wet weather in February 1986 is briefly described.
