Abstract:

Global sea level rise as a result of the greenhouse effect and the past trend and future projection on the rise are discussed. Potential problems associated with coastal stormwater drainage system design and their possible solutions are presented. It is recommended that both future costs of retrofitting the system when sea level rise is realized and the cost in designing a system now against the risk of a rise are considered by planners and engineers.
