Abstract:

The City of Kansas City, Kansas recently completed an upgrading of their existing primary treatment and sludge handling system in preparation for the addition of a high purity oxygen activated sludge treatment system. The upgrading of the solids handling facilities included a waste heat recovery and electric cogeneration system. This paper will review the selection and implementation of the waste heat recovery and electric cogeneration systems.
