Abstract:

Due to advantages offered by discontinuous wastewater processing, considerable attention has been given to the use of sequencing batch reactor (SBR). This paper will examine the implementation of programmable controller (PC) system at Poolesville, Maryland's new SBR facility, the first municipal WWTP specifically designed for sequencing batch reactor wastewater processing. The overview of the relative capabilities and merits of the Poolesville facilities PC control system is presented.
