Abstract:

Results of the study on groundwater contamination measurement and control are reported. The goal of this study was to ensure a safe and long-term supply of drinking water to the City of Fort Lauderdale Fiveash Water Treatment Plant (FWTP). The volatile organic contamination scope of the study encompassed the determination of the extent of (VOC) contamination, its future impacts on the Fiveash Wellfield (FWF), the optimum wellfield operation strategy, contaminant removal recommendations and an economic plan to achieve the construction of the required remedial facilities.
