Abstract:

This paper presents a review of design considerations and experiences with packed column aeration for removal of volatile organic chemicals (VOC) from groundwater at various locations across the United States. General considerations for a full-scale design are discussed which include field testing, process design, regulatory concerns, siting and location, aesthetics, system hydraulic, control and instrumentation, column and column internals.
