Abstract:
Based on interviews with software vendors, users and attorneys specializing in software litigation, the article offers viewpoints and advice on software licensing and legalities. It covers the clauses in a software contract that are favored by both bendor and consumer including the acceptance test, source code, warranty, patents and copyrights. Offers some advice on how to negotiate a contract. Ownership and use are also covered.
