Serial Information: Civil Engineering—ASCE, 1986, Vol. 56, Issue 4, Pg. 62-62

Document Type: Feature article

Abstract:

This article describes three versions of BASIC programs for microcomputers, prepared for the Federal Highway Administration, to calculate a statistical measure of highway quality. Using the upper and lower limits of acceptability in the contract specifications, the program calculates the portion of the product that meets the specification. It also calculates the statistical value of the mean and the standard deviation. The result can be used to indicate areas of potential concern requiring added engineering oversight.
