This paper presents the algorithm for optimal design of structural systems with active tendon controllers and/or active mass dampers. The structure is subjected to earthquake excitation modelled as a stationary random process. Using the approach one may economically resize structural members and effectively determine the optimal level of the control forces and control parameters.
