Abstract:

This paper discusses some of the characteristics of expert systems, with emphasis on the incorporation of these attributes in the development stage. It is suggested that the scope of expert systems should be defined by the experts. Throughout the discussion of a number of case studies, conclusions are drawn to be considered when developing the expert systems.
