Abstract:

Over the past several decades, the use of computers in engineering has grown significantly. Over this same time period, work in the relatively new discipline of Computer Science has impacted engineering use of computers in many ways. It is instructive to reflect on some of these impacts and to note where computer related technology is headed in order to see if we can infer from that how engineering will be impacted.
