Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Electronic Computation

Abstract:

The importance of analyzing and designing structural systems by using a reliability-based approach is emphasized, including system safety requirements with regard to both serviceability and ultimate limit states. To aid in reliability-based analysis and design, isosafety loading and design functions are introduced. Single and multi-criterion optimization formulations are also discussed.
