Abstract:

Efficient design of structural members with microcomputers requires a large variety of analysis, design, and check programs. The management of these programs can best be accomplished with an executive program which will call up the program required at each stage of design. Described are executive programs which arrange for the selection and paging of analysis and design programs; documentation describing programs available; and documentation for individual programs which describes what the program will do, what data is needed, and the form of the results. In one of the executive programs, the addition and deletion of design programs are also handled by the executive program. Return of control to the appropriate location in the executive program is provided when review of documentation or an analysis or design is completed. A list of analysis and design programs being used with the executive programs is included.
