Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Waterpower '85

Abstract:

The Truman Dam in Missouri was constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers in 1979 as a pumped-storage facility. Due to fishkill and other controversies, the pumpback feature of the project has not been used. The University of Missouri (MU) has performed an independent review of the project. A brief history of the Dam and the problems that plague the Dam are described herein. The finding of the MU Review is presented, and lessons to be learned are discussed.
