Abstract:

The object of this paper is to describe the design considerations of a microprocessor based power system stabilizer operating through excitation control as applied to a multi-unit pumped storage facility. In discussing the design and hardware considerations, this paper reviews the simulations conducted on the machines and system. Finally, the results of field tests are presented to demonstrate the correlation of field tests and simulations.
