Abstract:
This paper reviews some of the areas in which attention to detail can make the contractual relationship more positive and lead to a better project. Subjects covered include: selecting the optimum equipment/construction solution; providing assistance and incentives to deliver on time; improving confidence that performance guarantees will be met; understanding the quality level which will be provided; providing good O&M manuals; using insurance policies to minimize exposure; avoiding consequential damages; and defining warranties.
