Abstract:

Two tools that have come into use fairly recently are roller compacted concrete and tunnel boring machines. These new tools can significantly affect the ability to make new projects cost effective in comparison to other more conventional construction methods. This paper describes the construction techniques and their application, including equipment, costs, and other aspects of the subject.
