Abstract:

The present paper is aimed at studying turbine-pump units operating at low heads. The proposed methodology is based on the global matching of the turbine and the pump so that both will work at their design conditions, with the view of attaining the optimum performance of the unit, that would lead to best economy in lifting water. The turbine-pumps in question consist of an axial-flow turbine driving a rotary pump as a prime mover.
