Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Waterpower '85

Abstract:

Town Bluff Dam is located in southeast Texas, on the Neches River about 45 miles north of Beaumont, Texas. The dam is one element of the authorized Lower Neches and Angelina Rivers, Texas, project. The generating facilities to be constructed will have a plant capacity of 6 MW and will produce about 35,900 mWh of average annual energy. The Town Bluff hydropower project represents the first successful attempt during this Administration to fully achieve non-Federal project financing. It represents the institutionalization of non-Federal financing of traditionally fully Federally financed projects within the Corps. This process has and will continue to raise new issues.
