Abstract:

The spreadsheet program is one of the most powerful software developed for microcomputer application. This paper demonstrates the use of a spreadsheet program (Lotus 1-2-3) on a microcomputer (IBM personal computer) for a quick response type of transportation demand analysis. The choice of hardware and software for this project was not based on any preliminary evaluation or comparison of the various products that are available on the market but was predetermined by availability.
