Abstract:

Graphics helps analysts, policy-makers and the public understand the inter-relationships of land use patterns and transportation systems. A suite of graphics-based programs provide a decision-support system that assists evaluation of land use and transportation alternatives. The 2-D system provides capabilities to display, query, and graphically maintain a DIME-based representation of a map. The GeoData Analysis and Display System (GADS) provides capabilities to display and manipulate data associated with zones described in the 2-D environment through interaction with the displayed map image. The Network Editing and Display System (NEDS) enables road and transit networks to be created, annotated, edited, and displayed and loaded volumes analyzed through interactive graphics.
