Evaluation of the Driver/Extraboard Cost Model

by Douglas Wentworth, Houston Metro, Houston, TX, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputer Applications Within the Urban Transportation Environment

Abstract:

This paper presents a general evaluation of the Driver Extraboard Cost Model. The evaluation is based on a series of validation tests performed using data from the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (Tri-Met). The author does not claim that these tests were either exhaustive or rigorous. However, most of the capabilities of the model were sufficiently exercised to reveal both strengths and weaknesses that should be of interest to any analyst who contemplates using DEB in his own environment.
