Abstract:

San Francisco has found microcomputer spreadsheets a useful tool in preparing simple transit operating cost projections. This paper describes the City's first series of templates used for cost projections and the second template that has recently replaced them. The reader is hopefully provided a few modest ideas on structuring simple cost projections. The historical perspective illustrates how the City's approach to microcomputer use has evolved with experience.
