by Richard S. Marshment, Middle Rio Grande Council of, Governments, Albuquerque, NM, USA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputer Applications Within the Urban Transportation Environment

Abstract:

This paper describes the evaluation of six transportation forecasting programs which operate on microcomputers. The evaluation is undertaken from the perspective of a metropolitan planning organization (MPO) which currently employs a mainframe model for all types of network forecasting. The Middle Rio Grande Council of Governments is the MPO for the Albuquerque urban area. As such it is responsible for providing most large area forecasts as well as design forecasts in support of project advancement.
