by Marilyn M. Reynolds, Metropolitan Transportation, Commission, Oakland, CA,

Document Type: Proceeding Paper

Part of: Microcomputer Applications Within the Urban Transportation Environment

Abstract:

A method is offered for making a rational plan for acquisition of hardware and software. Other items are discussed which need to be considered, including maintenance, training, communications, user comfort and safety, purchasing, and pitfalls to avoid. Organizations beginning to assess their computer needs, and those currently in the throes of their own microcomputer changeover, may find ideas that will help them in the process.
