Abstract:

This paper describes some current initiatives in Ontario, Canada by a central funding agency to support and encourage the use of microcomputers in small and mid-sized transit properties. The funding agency and its Consultant will provide continuous user support throughout the implementation phase. An important part of the work will be to measure the impact of the introduction and use of the microcomputer systems on the transit properties, with an assessment of cost and benefits followed by dissemination of the results to other properties.
