Abstract:

An overview of the fifteen stations in the first phase of Vancouver's new automated light rail transit system is provided. Decisions related to station locations and types, together with contextual issues addressed in design are described. This paper also outlines the overall design approach and its rationale, choice of materials and the special consideration given to the needs of the handicapped.
