Abstract:

The Kobe New Transit System 'Portliner' is the first automated people mover which achieved the fully automated unmanned operation as a public transportation system in Japan. This paper presents the experience of four year operation focusing its unmanned operation. The unmanned operation of urban transit system was accepted in public first by Portliner.
