Abstract:

The purpose of the model is to reproduce river ice breakup phenomena for optimizing the design of an ice control structure. The performance of the ice control structure during a simulated breakup is monitored by using an interactive real-time data acquisition system. The data acquisition system is governed by a Hewlett-Packard 9845A desktop computer and enables a rapid analysis of the work because of the real-time monitoring. This paper discusses the model and its method of data collection.
