Abstract:

In this paper, a fast, simple, yet effective technique for valve motion synthesis is developed. This technique called Quick Stroking is applied to a practical example problem, and it may be applied to other valve motion synthesis problems in single pipes with upstream or downstream control valve, in systems with flow stoppage, initiation, or modulation, and in cases with pressure or stroke constraint.
