Abstract:

The preliminary results of a numerical investigation of natural convection flow in a three-dimensional cavity heated from below are presented. The transient three-dimensional simulation results indicate a complex flow structure in both time and space. These results are contrasted with those of the equivalent two-dimensional simulation fields.
